PM threatens return of restrictions if Covid-19 prevention measures not observed

Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha announced on Tuesday (May 5) that both the public and private sectors should strictly apply social-distancing measures once the lockdown is lifted or restrictions will be applied again.

 

“As for people crowding stores to purchase alcohol, I have complained and issued new controls on the sale of alcoholic beverages. Now there are limitations on how many bottles can be sold and during what hours, so this does not happen again,” the premier said.

 

He also warned that if people still crowd stores to purchase booze, the government will once again impose a ban.

 

He also said that customers should spend no more than two hours in shopping malls, so they don’t get crowded and insisted that people’s body temperature should be checked at every entrance.

Highly expected already, by thais and foreigners. That's why stores was filled with people. We all know what will come next, more control, more ban, more restrictions .... coming soon!

Exactly right, the powers that be in their complete and utter stupidity create the problems and then blame it on the general public, it makes you wonder what is between their ears.

First ban the sale of alcohol for 3 weeks, right at the end of the first ban say it is going to be banned further until 31st May, 2 days later say it can be on sale again and then don't understand and complain when there is a rush to buy, so the obvious answers to them are either ban it again or restrict how many bottles one person can buy during restricted times, yeah that will work..................not!

The stupidity of this all defeats me!

At first when this all begun I was gutted I was back in UK visiting family. Now I’m glad, I do not believe one utterance about this pandemic from Prayut, he’s  just a PRC mouth piece . I’m at the least sure the UK is not chatting bull about deaths, infections etc.  Stay safe everyone ????

How about some degree of sensibility, the government restrict the time to purchase alcohol then stop people from purchasing said alcohol for several weeks then re-open sales but the time line for purchases remains the same of course this will in itself create crowds it's called human nature therefore the people to blame are the government for not thinking this through in the first place.......!!!!

This idiot has all the makings of a megalomaniac and the intelligence of a simpleton.  The booze ban was one of the most ludicrous initiatives ever, achieved nothing and it's subsequent rescindment was handled as if by a child.  What on earth did he expect, of course people will stockpile, because they know he's likely to introduce the ban again, something he has now threatened to do.  You dotard, that will simply make the situation worse.

Social distancing and mask wearing needs to be enforced by the Police(let's forget that then) local Dam(exercise) is rammed with people every evening, people in big groups with the majority not wearing masks, Police have been but do nothing other than make groups of teenagers do press ups, majority don't care because the authorities don't care! God help us all!

Ban for 10 days.

Extend to 20 days.

Allow rumours that there will be a 2 day window to bulk buy.

Ban for a further month.

Remove the ban altogether.

Threaten another ban. 

Blame the public.

Should have taken the same measures as the UK and there would not have been a problem. Only so many in the shop at any one time and only so many items of those in short supply.

Bet he believes in the five second rule too.  In Saigon, you are only asked to wear a mask in malls.  There is no spewing of nonsense from a silly tinpot with too much power and too little good sense.  There were also NO alcohol bands here at any time, day or night.

Well I for one am happy he did it as the number of cases is far less than Singapore for example and this country is way bigger. Thanks to him, Thailand seems to be in good shape.

Folk adjusted to the 10pm-4am time lockdown, but they did not adjust to sitting indoors without a beer.....

 

So what does the "army" expect when the beer sales resumed....Folk know the army don't really have a clue, so folk will now, if they have any cash, stock up at home in case another U-turn....

 

Seeing how train passengers are having to travel like sardines, how come the army hasn't stopped train travel, FAR more risk to citizens than beer.....????

 

The army should learn their lesson, beer sales was/is not a problem ...............????
