It's the publishing of the photo that is serious.  The photos are almost invariably taken on the understanding that it's between two consenting adults.   Consent of one of the adults is not generally present when it's published.   

 

As as for millions of dollars and the timing, it's just a matter of enacting a law.  It would involve a working party but seems a no brainer.    Hope you don't have daughters who unwittingly end up on the net for the sexual gratification of strangers.

No, actually it's not serious. It's a photo. It's not sexual assault. It's not murder. It's not a virus. How is a photo of a naked woman ever serious? This is 2020, not 1812.

Lawmakers have considerably more important matters to attend to that actual matter to society at large, as opposed to a small number of ladies who've had pictures of themselves taken during sexual activity. One has to question the sanity of anyone that allows intimate photos of themselves to be accessible to another these days, and in many cases it's the person being embarrassed that sent the photos over the internet, though they thought they were not public. Once something is on the net it's just a matter of time before someone posts them in public.

We are constantly being told how tech savvy young people are, but I have to doubt that.
