I've been following your posts Bert.

When I read you'd received your UK mail, I tripped down to Thai Post again this morning only to be told air mail is only going from Thailand to other limited Asian Countries, not to the UK as yet.

I can send EMS by sea, but estimated 45 day delivery time.

Yes seems strange mail can now come in ,but not go out amazing Thailand. i am lucky i dont need to send anything out

Repatriation flights are still happening so the OP's package could turn up at any time. All courier services are still working but Royal Mail doesn't use them.

FWIW, in pre WuFlu times, Royal Mail international tracked and signed from the UK would take 7-10 days depending if it caught holidays at either end.

I need to send some personal papers to uk but post office at banamper said 3 months .is EMS still sending mail.and would it get delivered in uk.millions of mail stacked high in royal mail depots

I'm in the same situation, some personal documents.

EMS not possible by air, only by sea.

Option is carriers such as DHL, but expensive for a few papers.

I have had no post from the UK for over a month, as stated there is currently no airmail and going by sea is an open question. I hear that the backlog in the UK is worse then Christmas, normal postal services we would use seem to be only working within the country. The option as mentioned is to use the specialist carriers and pay through the nose or to just be patient for services to return to normal, the pointer is when the airport in Bangkok re opens, maybe not for passengers from the west but for post, parcels and cargo might be allowed first, they were talking of opening BKK 1st June so keep an eye on developments this week and hope for the best.

I  received my P60 from the UK last week. Sent from UK via Jersey Post.

No sign of my P60 yet.

Of course, even assuming that the item makes it from UK to Thailand, there is still the possibility - maybe probability - that it will disappear into the black hole of Thailand Post!

I'm in Pattaya, dark side, and our mail deliveries here are appalling.  Lucky to get one delivery a month and when stuff does come it's often weeks out of date.  Even local stuff goes missing - ToT bills seldom appear - and how much stuff from UK has never made it I've no idea!

We have poked the local office and even complained to Customer Service in Bangkok but little has changed for the better!

As i posted before ,a small package was posted on 27th april from the UK ,it sat at Heathrow ,up until Thailand started accepting post from the UK on 16th may ,received it in Pattaya on 26th may ,which is about as long as it normally takes approx 10 days

I don't think they ever stopped accepting mail from anywhere.

Only outgoing mail to many countries by air is a problem and that is mostly because Thai Airways has not had any flights.

dont know about that ,but on the royal mail track and trace website they have a list of countrys that are and were not accepting Royal Mail ,Thailand was not ,but now is ,

ps ,i believe they were accepting the private companys via cargo flights ,but quite a high price  to pay
