Popular Post webfact
Thai immigration chief busts illegal call center offering short term loans Picture: Daily News Thailand's chief of immigration Lt-Gen Sompong Chingduang led a raid on an illegal loan company operating in Bangkok yesterday. It was reminiscent of the antics of the IB's former chief Surachate Hakpan known as Big Joke who busted call centers before his fall from grace last year. Officers went to a four story premises in Soi Wutthakat 36/2 where there was a call center upstairs. Thai Lucky Trade Co Ltd. was offering short term loans up to 5,000 baht charging interest of up to one per cent a day. If people failed to return the money in a week they were charged 5% a day. Victims were contacted over the phone and persuaded to download an app and use video call to verify credentials and ID. Picture: Daily News Chinese people are behind the scam. Six Chinese at the premises were managing the operation that employed 73 Thais. Dozens of computers and phones were taken into evidence. Daily news said the business was operating above the law and involved a turnover of 100 million baht. Looks like those who borrowed already are getting it for free now though, as those they borrowed from are not in a position to demand it back.

Caldera
These Chinese are clever. First they unleash a deadly virus that wrecked Thailand's economy, now they unscrupulously offer high interest loans to the victims of the economic fallout. 1
