The mayor of Saensuk district responsible for Bang Saen beach went on his personal Facebook page once again to have a go at visitors flouting the ban on congregating.

Last week Narongchai Khunpluem - a member of a strongarm family that operates in Chonburi - ranted against his compatriots for trashing his beach just one day after the road was opened again.

This week Narongchai said that the social distancing message had not been received loud and clear despite signage.

Lots of people were congregating on the sidewalk and eating and drinking on mats.

Daily News called them tourists; they appeared to be Thai. Lots of pictures of the miscreants with their identities obscured by smiley faces were posted as police looked on.

Narongchai said that police and some sections of the public had recommended that the beach road that was recently reopened be closed again.

The police said they do not have the manpower to enforce the regulations.

Clear signs were being ignored said the mayor who said that quite a few people were ignoring the ban.

He said there was less trash than last week but still quite a lot.

He said he may have to recommend to the Chonburi authorities that the road be shut up again. Jogging, cycling and walking is allowed.

Despite the possible setback to the easing of restrictions, the mayor added that the plan was to.open the beach again in June and that vendors were being contacted with that in mind.

But notice the Thai family sitting on the mat having a picnic, they just get a verbal warning.

But we know how it works out for other ethnicities!

Perhaps they went after those later, not having the resources. Plus there is less likely to be money in them.

They have enough to catch and fine foreigners??

pol.lt somnamna said in a statement that priorities had to be made in the crimes suppression, he had thought about the issue for several seconds before deciding on the most cost effective use of the resources

Thailand say's it wants to encourage international tourism to return as soon as possible...

then stop encouraging us to stay away with blatant victimisation like this.
