webfact
Sizzling Thailand! Pomeranian seeks relief in the fridge - Thai vet says one hour is enough! Picture: 77kaoded Thai media 77kaoded went to a house in Ang Thong sub-district of Ratchaburi where they spoke to Pornphimon who owns four Pomeranians. There is Fifa and his lover Ferya and their two offspring Thong-Ek and Lucky. Pornphimon said that she raises the pooches like they were her own kids. Normally she turns on the fan and the dogs cuddle up and cool down in the heat of the day like that. But Fifa is smarter than the others and demands a greater level of cool. When she goes to get food from the fridge he jumps in and has been doing this since he was a puppy seven years ago. Ferya sometimes joins him. When she hasn't opened the fridge and it's baking hot in the house Fifa waits outside and shakes his head like he's saying "Why haven't you opened up my air room". Picture: 77kaoded Then he bounds in and takes up residence. He barks when he has had enough. 77kaoded - who went into great detail about the characteristics of the long haired and allegedly smart Pomeranian breed - contacted a vet called Rattawat or Dr Note who said it was natural that dogs would seek out the coldest place to avoid heatstroke. Asked about the possibility of suffocation he suggested that dogs should only be kept in your fridge for a maximum of one hour. But it would be quite alright for longer if you were regularly going to open it for food and beverages as that would allow fresh air to enter. Popular Post Just1Voice
I call fake. 1. Pom's are not known for their leaping abilities. 2. That space is way too small for a dog of that size to jump onto. Staged photo. 4

The dog would have to get a running start, leap up, then turn sideways IN THE AIR at the precise moment to land in that space, which is just barely big enough to hold him. Popular Post spermwhale
Frankly I think it's animal cruelty to have a long-haired dog in Thailand. And Thais really seem to love huskies, which really struggle in this heat and can die easily if left outdoors this time of year. And we all know how well most Thais take care of their dogs.

totally thaied up
I have two Shih Tzu's. During the hottest part of the year, they are in a airconditioned room constantly. My Beagle suffers more from the heat then them. He will howl outside in the middle of the hottest part of the day and ask to be let in with the Shih Tzu's. He hates the heat. DaRoadrunner
I used to have a real cool cat that would get into the fridge. First time we experienced this was when he went missing one day, but then we noticed the fridge going meow. Paw prints in the butter are a bit much though. He had some other habits, such as an ability to eat the entire topping of a large pizza in no time if your back was turned.
