webfact
24 Patong police officers test negative for Covid-19 By The Nation The results of Covid-19 tests on 24 Patong police officers have come back negative, the Phuket Communicable Disease Committee reported today (May 12). The 24 were instructed to undergo a test after coming into contact with another officer recently confirmed to have been infected with the virus. Of the 5,798 people tested in the province so far, 5,713 have returned to their homes. Twenty-seven of these are confirmed to have contracted Covid-19, while 58 are awaiting lab test results, the committee added. Meanwhile, the Phuket Provincial Health Office clarified that beauty salons are allowed to open for hairstyling, haircutting or hair drying and customers need to book in advance online or via telephone or make an appointment at the front of the shop to reduce congestion. Every person is required to wash his/her hands with soap or alcohol gel before entering and after exiting, and always wear a mask while there. Social distancing must be followed, the office insisted. And if anyone has a fever, cough, cold or is sneezing, service should be halted immediately. Srikcir
Unless these 24 are continuously monitored and isolated for 14 days after contact, and negative test is reconfirmed (ie., at 7 and 14 days) it's dangerous to let them continue in their jobs. Also dangerous if the infected officer is not contact tracked with other persons who too may have been exposed.
