the thai tribe is misdirection from nationalism, changing the name from siam to thailand, this land had been influenced from the vedic/aryan tribes for 2000 years, from java to mon to lavo kingdom into the late 19 century, its why the language is sanskrit/pali, the ceremonies are vedic based, and budhism was brought by these people 1700-2000 years ago, the chinese have mostly influenced over the last 150 years, i would say the reason for the disdain is that han chinese are the most racist people on this planet, and look down on nearly ever race, especially the darker skin races, siam is a hot land, there is a normal reason why many people living on this land have darker skin, han china is much cooler climate, siam in sanskrit means land of dark skin, the han chinese never see themselves as thais or siamese, they just look at themselves as lord of the manor, and the darker skin so called thais/siamese are their slaves

My PM, as much as I dislike him, didn’t force his way into his job with guns and tanks like some kind of mafioso. He didn’t promise elections multiple times for 5 years so he could buy time to have everything put in place but still have to rig an election. 
 

My PM isn’t scared of laser messages on walls, or of poor people who scramble for food because they’re hungry, and have been let down so badly by their government it’s criminal .

He is correct that people should not take everything without caring about others. But some people are greedy and only will care about themselves. You can't change human behavior but only the way how such things get distributed. Perhaps a camera at such locations could improve the situation a little bit. But some people are thieves and will find a way around such a hurdle.

With houses in that price range they are paying mortgages at a substantial rate.   Truth is they are more needy than the peasants!

Government now suggesting if this abuse continues they will look at a prohibition on eating at home for the rest of the month. If things haven't improved this may be extended.

 

You will still be able to eat on a boat moored outside Thai territorial waters and in restaurants on the left hand side of the road from the 1st to 15th of the month and on the right hand side of the road from the 16th of the month onwards. 

 

Provincial Governors will be able to put into place additional measures as they see fit. Provinces starting with the letters A-M will be oriented North to south when deciding which side of the road is Right or left. Provinces N-Z will be oriented South to North.

 

Any misunderstandings with this new proviso will be resolved locally at a yet undetermined and variable fee.

I hope the Press and NGO's raise cane about this.  There are poor people out there, especailly those who do not qualify for the 5,000 baht per month, who also have Families to feed.  This from a Prime Minister is disgraceful and shows he clearly does not care about the poor people of Thailand.  So, so sad!

Setting up government food banks is a nice concept but just invites more corruption Let's see now ( the newly formed Food Assistance Security Task Team or FASTT) Just moved into a new office complex etc, etc..

My mates and Thai friends have been giving food out to the poor since this started at our own expense and asking nothing in return. The ladies do the cooking and we distribute using our own labor and vehicles. The one thing That I can't stop thinking is in addition to handouts why hasn't the government offered alternative  jobs to the able bodied ?

Jobs such as cleaning along the beaches and roads. This country is a filthy pig stye and here's an opportunity for honest work outside and easy to comply with distancing etc. They could also get fed while on the job and transported back and forth to their villages... Statements like that from the Supreme Commander just proves that he's aloof and completely out of touch with reality. Gotta go we're delivering 400 meals today, It'll be a four beer operation..

Gov should take over the management and supervision of these food banks via community donations....But it ain’t going to happen...so you end up with inequitable distributions...community is involved but not committed to good project management (think the chicken and the pig)

 

unsupervised food donations is like Thai people putting out food for soi dogs and the stronger more aggressive dogs take more than their share...the actual dogs who need it don’t get any and soon succumb....

What a piece of work.  Wonder when was the last time he had to scramble for a meal.  No help on the way, of course, from the government.  Keep scrambling but do it orderly and that's an order.
