Foreigner Jumps From 2nd Floor

A foreign tourist after ordering beer to drink, jumped from the 2nd floor of The Crocodile Bar on Second Road.

The owner of Crocodile Bar called the Pattaya Police on 15th April at 2 am to inform that one of her foreign customers had jumped from the second floor of her venue.

On arrival, the police and rescuers found Mr. Walter Webhofer, aged 50, lying on the concrete road. The rescuers found that his left leg was broken and he had a wound on his head. When the rescuers tried to aid him, he refused and got up and tried to run away, but fell back down since he had a broken leg. It was then necessary for the officials to strap him down and forcibly took him to the hospital.

The owner of the bar stated that he man walked in and ordered a beer. When he finished his drink he stated that he didn’t have any money. She couldn’t do anything so decided to let it go and asked him to leave. However, without saying anything, he walked up to the second floor of the venue with the empty bottle of beer. He was mumbling to himself and not long after he threw down the bottle and acted like he was going to jump. Residents screamed for him not to jump but he did.

The police recorded all the statements and will question Mr. Webhofer about what really happened. For now the hospital stated that he is in a satisfactory condition.

DISTURBED ITALIAN LEAPS FROM 2ND FLOOR PATTAYA BAR AND MIRACULOUSLY SURVIVES

The 15th of April saw yet another plummeting incident as an Italian, Mr. Walter Nebhofer, (50), leapt from the 2nd floor Crocodile Beer Bar on Pattaya Soi 4. Miraculously, although the jumper sustained very serious injuries, he managed to survive.

Responding to a distress call at 2.30 am, concerning a farang jumper, the Pattaya Constabulary, in the persons of Police Lieutenant Chanatat Nawakhunrangsri and his team, accompanied by two rescue teams, one from Sawang Boriboon and another from Pattaya International Hospital, rushed to the scene of the incident.

There they found a crowd of onlookers, both foreign and local, clustered round the person of Mr. Walter Nebhofer, who was lying on his side on the ground floor of the downstairs bar, The Thai Bowl & Snooker Beer Bar. He has sustained severe head injuries and his left leg was broken in two places. He had actually jumped from the Crocodile Beer Bar on the second floor above; there being two bars on the same premises.

However, when the rescuers attempted to help Mr. Walter, who was still conscious, but drunk, became abusive and aggressive, refusing to be taken to hospital. Eventually, with the aid of the bystanders, the rescuers managed to subdue him and deliver him to Pattaya International Hospital.

On questioning the witnesses, the police discovered that Mr. Walter had not only been extremely intoxicated, but may also have been suffering from some mental disorder as he was walking around talking to himself. Inevitably, his behaviour began to disturb other customers and the bar owner attempted to get him to leave, offering him the inducement of a bottle of Chang Beer. However, Mr. Walter refused to take the bait and continued his disturbing behaviour.

This carried on until he suddenly climbed over a metal safety barrier which prevented people falling to the ground and hurled an empty bottle over the balcony to the road below. Then he jumped over a barrier to the roof, following which, he leapt over the balcony and fell to the ground.

Mr. Walter was in no fit state to explain his perverse behaviour and the police will have to wait until he has sufficiently recovered to discover some motive for his actions.

  • 4 weeks later...

Bar staff called Pattaya police station after an Italian drunk clambered on to a low roof before rolling off in an apparent gesture of defiance to the world. The odd event occurred at a beer bar in soi 4 after the farang wandered in well after closing time and demanded a beer.

The owner said he could only have one and would then be required to leave. However, Mr Walter Nebhofer, aged 50, started moving around in a drunken stupor and was becoming a real pain in the ass to the other customers who were much less intoxicated than he was. He refused all entreaties to go on his way without further ado. Finally, he managed to clamber on to a low overhanging roof and then fell down on to the road. This was the first time he had been quiet since his arrival. He was taken to the Pattaya International Hospital but died the following day, apparently from a blood clot which formed as a result of substantial head injuries.
