What is Pattaya Cuddle?

I see numerous advertisements on Facebook and it appears to be referring to some area in Pattaya.  I asked my Thai Fiance and she has been here for years and never heard of it.  I googled it and there were no answers there either.

Thanks to everyone.  That one had me baffled.  I thought it was referring to some local term like "the dark side" for an area within Pattaya that locals were familiar with.  That explains it.

Google translate is indeed not a trusted source.  For a bill I received ฿xxx became 200xxx - the bad part is insurance paid it as Google translated so had to write a $5,xxx check to repay.  Lucky a couple weeks before outgoing mail stopped.

Click the 'original language' button and read it in Thai.

It'll be completely different to the translation.

Lol - I thought it said "escort" not expert.

I haven't been able to figure out what "cuddle" is either. I see it all the time whether it's Bing or Google doing the translation. I see it on government Facebook pages that have been translated and friend's facebook posts.

I'm guessing that the translation programs can't handle a certain Thai character (like  ื  or  ้ or  ึ) and they default to the word "cuddle" instead. Maybe the programmers thought it would be the least offensive choice.

(That would explain why it shows up in many translations.)
Like this: ปอน รถน้ำพัทยา บริการ24ชม which when I translate it on the Facebook post seems to say "Pon water car. Cuddle Pattaya. Service for 24 hours." or in Google Translate "Pattaya Water entered the car 24 hours."

Or this one. "มาถึงพัทยาก็ขี่เลย" which in Facebook translates to "Arrived at cuddle pattaya and I ride" but in Google it comes out as "Arrive Pattaya and ride straight away."

A Thai friend made a comment on a post a few minutes ago. Something about Friday of every week being a holiday for city employees. One line "ลูกจ้างประจำ พนักงานจ้างเมืองพัทยา" on Facebook translates to "Cuddle employees. Full time staff hiring for the city of cuddle pattaya " but Google translates it as "Full-time Employees Employees of Pattaya City".

Whatever it is, there sure seems to be a lot of "cuddle" in Pattaya, even with all the bars being closed and all the bar girls forced to sell BBQ in front of their (closed) bars to make a living !

Cuddle on Pattaya !

Keep Calm and Cuddle (Pattaya) !

Sounds like a motorcycle I was interested written in Thai translation motorcycle has 17 wheels.... I stopped short after reading the first part. Good ole Google not always your friend. I thought it was like the snuggle places I read about in states just spooning no sex sounded very boring. Not to sure how that would work if you get aroused.LOL

Just noticed the thread is a bit older.

But still worth mentioning: Facebook uses its own translator.

Different from Google.

And this "cuddle" is really absurd.

Below are translations of a short text from Facebook to compare (I pasted it to Google translate website):

FB:

Quote

Drunk and rampant in ptt gas station. Thepprasit Road, cuddle south pattaya. Later, hit the pump staff until the body was injured before fleeing.

Google:

Quote

Intoxicated in a gas station PTT, Thepprasit Road, South Pattaya, later drove a car to hit the pump staff until floated, injured before fleeing.

Both far from good, but that FB leaves out the fact that the culprit hit the staff member with his car is really poor!

The Day When American tourists walked into soi cuddle Pattaya 6 Beach Road, found a two girls persuaded to sleep, but the victim refused. So the two girls

used a fire soda on the victim to be injured before escaped.

Quote

On the day of the incident, an American tourist walked into Pattaya Soi 6, Beach Road, met a transsexual woman, seducing him to sleep.

But the victim refused The transexual girl then uses caustic soda to splash on the injured person until injured before fleeing.

There is quite a difference between TWO girls and ONE(?) transsexual woman :cheesy::cheesy:

So simply said: Facebook translator is even worse than Google translate for Thai!
