How did you end up with a car like that in Samui? I am glad you want to replace it with a pickup and not a tuned Lamborghini.

It was mostly ok but I happened to live in houses that had steep inclines and driveways that were not suitable. That was annoying. The roads in samui have been repaired and are for the most part quite good now. I replaced the golf with a 2014 Subaru XV. Picked it up with sub 100k km on the odometer and a proper service history for 400k baht. It feels ridiculously underpowered after the golf but the extra clearance is welcome. It handles quite well, the 4WD is great and is also very safe. Edited August 21, 2020 by madhav
