Doesn't it go straight out to sea? Just as well they are not letting people go out swimming. Pollution and waste in the water is bad enough without adding the virus.???? There was an infamous case where SARS was apparently spread in an apartment building in Hong Kong via wastewater but that involved a faulty plumbing system that was causing untreated sewage from one floor to be "aerosolised" in an apartment on a floor below and getting into the air - not from the contaminated water itself. It seems that whereas in the west, when contracts are outsourced they contain clauses to fix/repair/replace any faults or defects at the contractors expense. As Creasy says, there is no such thing here and the contractors deliberately do a shoddy job, knowing they will be called back to fix whatever, and get paid again! The drains just about everywhere in or around Pattaya are constantly being upgraded - it looks good at the time but even the 1 metre sectional type just can't cope with the volume when we get a massive downpour. It looks like a large section of Soi Siam country Club (Pornprapanimit) is next for the treatment - there are hundreds of 1 metre sections piled up alongside the road between the Chicken crossroads and Maprachan reservoir (or the Serengeti as it is now known locally). I guess that it might also act as a Covid-19 repellant. If Trump fell for the Domestos remedy, I'm sure Snake Brand could make a killing in the US. Perhaps, by the time the photo was taken, all the muck and garbage was gone ? Although all the water in Thailand seems to be dirty all the time, monsoon or no monsoon.
