That's why Congress didn't pursue the matter.  So all Trump has to do is give a valid reason for firing the IG.  After all, what's good for the goose...

What don't you get about "serving at the pleasure of the president"? Can be any excuse.

Trump should have fired all Obama appointees after he was elected and saved himself this problem.

I think it will happen in future.
