SiSePuede419
Only swim on beaches where there are no people pooping Coronavirus into the water, that gets aerosolised by the waves into the beach air. Any more questions you want to ask a educated person? ???? https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2018/05/180525095420.htm
Tropposurfer
Phuket still closed on all beaches. I see a few not fisher-folk and rod fishermen on rocks here and there. But definitely not lawfully allowed on the sand or in the water anywhere on Phuket.

Hoxman, High concentration areas with Covid that has beaches? Are you looking at Long Island, New York or the New Jersey Shore Nursing Homes? Covid in Thailand is virtually non-existent.

But I can say that the pristine quiet beaches of nakonsitaamarat is wide open whilst most of bigger/popular cool water falls however are shut due to the National Park order ... MadMuhammad
I think the OP has totally missed the point of why they closed the beaches in the first place Edited May 20, 2020 by MadMuhammad

No virus i promise. : )
Tony125
Maybe someone should forward this to Thai authorities. There’s NO evidence coronavirus can be spread in swimming pools, CDC says https://www.the-sun.com/news/855547/no-evidence-coronavirus-spread-swimming-pools-cdc/?utm_medium=browser_notifications&utm_source=pushly

SidJames
It was reported on the news that they are opening up some beaches next week & if social distancing & boozing rules are obeyed then they will open all beaches although local governors can still keep them closed. kevinsan
Not saying the beaches in Pattaya are sewers, but they may be basing the no swimming decision on this data.

How can there be a concentration of SARS-COV2 in Pattaya sewage when there hasn't been a new case recorded here in six weeks? This graph must be referring to Phuket, lol. They are studying sewage in New Haven and noting when spikes in the SARS-COV2 RNA appeared compared to when spikes in infections started appearing in local hospitals. I think what they are trying to determine is if it's possible to predict an outbreak in an area before masses of people start showing symptoms. As we know, people can be carrying the virus without showing symptoms, however, when they defecate, virus cells are "shed" from the body and can be detected in the solid waste matter at treatment plants.
