webfact
Inquiry underway after seven Chinese manage to cross over to Koh Chang Picture: 77kaoded Thai media reported that seven Chinese adults and children in three cars managed to cross over to Koh Chang in Trat despite the ban on tourists. The tourists shouldn't have even been in Trat province. They were stopped at the Ao Sapparot port and sent back to the mainland of Laem Ngop. Picture: 77kaoded They were in cars with Chiang Mai plates. Khao Saming district chief Pheerawat admitted there had been a mistake though he suspected that the Chinese had not passed the Thai Jort checkpoint to enter Trat. An investigation is underway. Boomer6969
I have been going to Koh Chang, since 2009 once or twice a year, most of the time in during low season. Was very difficult to get within 3 meters of any human other than the foot massage professional. And now they want to keep locked up, dunno for how long, a real shame. At least I have managed to postpone all my bookings to October. But I am not overly optimistic. 2

Isaan sailor
If we can’t go to KC, why should Chinese even get past the ferry? 2

Maybe we are here talking about some present-day equivalent of the Maginot Line? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maginot_Line
