I'm looking forward to a massive increase in the number of hairdressers...or maybe they should all take up employment as Immigration officers.  Make our lives easier instead of a 3 hour wait for a 10 minute job.

The more I think about this the more I realize it would be good for all parties.  At immigration reception you could have a choice of long time or short time to process your application. They could have a special waiting area where you could treat them to a drink or three.

Kill 2 birds with one stone so to speak and for those that are into uniforms....

Bingo .?

That's a form of gambling... illegal !

But in a sense the post is correct.. Thailands days of bars, pubs, clubs go-go bars and beer gardens as they were are a thing of the past.

Evolve or go extinct.

The best solution would be to legalize prostitution. Impossible here.

The only way to eliminate sex tourism is to repeatedly jail foreign mongers to long terms in Thai jail for taking a girl.

Then they will go elsewhere.

Prostitutions will never go away, it can be curtailed however.

I hate prostitution and everything it stands for, however there will always be people who will pay for sex, no matter what I think of that. I think Thailand (especially Pattaya) should stop making silly statements about being a high end destination for the wealthy and embrace what they really are, "the sex tourist capital of the world". If it was legalised "properly" with sexual health clinics, regulated environments, tax payments etc and eliminate the need for human trafficking and forced prostitution I think there is something in that. Making prostitution a legitimate source of income for ladies knowing they are protected by the industry would make sense. They could quite literally embrace it, advertise it and exploit it as being the safest place for sex tourism. Amsterdam have been known as liberal place for years with cannabis and prostitution being legal and it works for them.

I think that for certain places in Thailand it would make sense to do this, it would certainly generate enormous revenue. If they did this in conjunction with legalising Casinos it would likely become a real hotspot again in SE Asia.

However legalising it in a lazy way would be an absolute no no, better to clamp down on it completely then just say "it's legal now".

The US ARMY starved the Indians off the land by killing all there buffalo.

This Thai hasn't got the message. They don't care they want you all gone. Sad but true. They are building a casino for Chinese. Look at the new Hotels being built. Roads highways. But they will send Thailand broke. It will take 2 years to build

typical dumb words government minions and many politicians utter with little grey matter on the subject of business, and business niche.

The amount of bars being forced to pay rent by the tide mark of Thailand ‘greedy landlords’, one step up from the loan shark mob.

Reality check - Thailand entertainment industry is set up for men and on offer is what men want - booze and sex - it has provided large amounts of income to Thailand - airlines, travel companies, hotels, bars, restaurants, sex workers and their families, and the government through taxes, extortion and other means - licenses, tea money - FANTASy that travellers will come to pattaya for the beach, the environment, the temples

Government - if they want the cream they must get testing precise, issue staff with genuine test clearance passes, insist on visitors being Covid free on arrival and start to re-generate this industry

If they don't want then they will create a huge problem for themselves in terms of loss of income - remember each visitor pays a 700 Baht departure tax -a plane with 100 onboard is 70000 Baht - on average 2 a minute =140000 baht x 60 minutes = 8and a half million baht an hour tax revenue x by 24 hours and that is about 200 million baht for just one day - I can't see the junta waving goodbye ti that amount of cash can you

Cute or rough?

Just wondering.

I didn't look much. But I was wondering that they were walking up and down and not sitting or standing at one place. Okay - the police wasn't too far away and hanging around there is not allowed at the moment.

But "we" are not all ????

Bars have been around since day one or as soon as they yearned how to ferment. You are wasteing your time talking them down, you can close them up and they will reopen somewhere else. I am 74 years old started going into bars in Japan, HongKong, Philippines, and a lot of other asian countries when I was 18 years old. No one will ever get rid of this action

Think you took a wrong turn on your way to the monastery.

I'm wondering if he could have used a route other than the water side of Beach Road.    Maybe then less trouble from the nubiles seeking  gainful arrangements.

Surely you are just trying to wind folks up. No one could possibly be that anal, can they?

You are right. Just came to my mind. Of course the same is valid for boy bars and ladymen bars and not only for bars with girls.

The whole thing is tied into tourists.

Not many Thai men drink at the bars.

They really have to come up with a common sense approach to remove the border protection.

Get the planes coming back to Thailand.

Nobody has caught covid19 on a plane. True.

Seriously think about the farang tourists and others.

They are the Salvation here.

The government couldn't even hand out the 5000 baht offerings they promised.

We now have 6 million more farmers according to the system. Rubbish.

I've said before the government will get one decent crack at this.

Make it safe and easy to get back and from June/July people will start to return.

Impose too much government restrictions and they will not bother.

The death of the entertainment industry could be the start of something really good; ladies who want to sell can move online. Customers stop getting gouged by ever-increasing bar fines and workers stop getting gouged by ever-increasing cuts. Win-win for everyone (except the bar owners).

Have a look at Third Road by example:

Bars full of Thai people with rarely a farang or tourist inside !

In fact same in the biggest part of Pattaya, just not the part near the sea.

Pattaya can change and look for tourists with other interests than sex and booze. Perhaps now is the best time for this.

Why don't you rather move to another place, in the middle of nowhere preferably, should suit you well, ..."Oldie"!

You could bore an <deleted> in a wooden donkey.

Whorehouse by the sea. Gals, guys and in between available.

Farang bar lifestyle available. Decent golf courses available locally.

Food not bad.

Enjoy the best of all worlds.

There isn't anywhere like it. Anyone tells you any different is lying.

Willy your right there isn't anywhere in the world like Pattaya, a true playground for any man regardless of how much money he has or earns

White color blue color in Pattaya there is someone for everyone, I have mates who live in ireland and England who dont get their end unless they come to Pattaya.

For a lot of guys coming to pattaya is like going to paradise, and their first rock n roll in bed for a long time. I dont normally comment in this forum but today I had to, I will miss the old Pattaya as will mention of men the world over. I really try to be positive and think it will come back, it's very difficult to see that happening. For one the west have decimated their economies, a lot of people out of work. As previously stated before the plandemic times were bad, most bar owners I know were down 20 to 40% overall to Christmas.

There are powerful people both in government and the private sector who want change, for this reason in itself, it will happen.

There are as many if not more bars that cater to thai people located in nearly every soi, bars, discos, karaoke, snooker halls. I wonder why people comment when they dont have any knowledge of the place.
