Don Mueang added to stops for 6 special express trains

Six special express trains heading to the North and Northeast have been instructed to stop at the Don Mueang Station for one minute from Wednesday (May 20) to June 17.

 

The State Railway of Thailand (SRT) had started running 42 services nationwide, including eight special express trains and 34 commuter trains.

 

The special express stopping at Don Mueang Station are:

 

No 9051: Bangkok-Chiang Mai, arriving in Don Mueang at 6.17am

 

No 9051: Chiang Mai-Bangkok, arriving in Don Mueang at 5.43pm

 

No 9071: Bangkok-Ubon Ratchathani, arriving in Don Mueang at 6.33am

 

No 9072: Ubon Ratchathani-Bangkok, arriving in Don Mueang at 2.14pm

 

No 9075: Bangkok-Nong Khai, arriving in Don Mueang at 7.24am

 

No 9076: Nong Khai-Bangkok, arriving in Don Mueang at 3.58pm.

This plan is still progressing and under construction using "standard" gauge that will link Bangkok and Korat (Issan). Much of the existing "narrow" gauge system is being doubled to eliminate many of the passing loops so that trains can run to a faster timetable. For example here in Khon Kaen, which includes a new station:-

Quite there was me telling the world that soon living in KK i would be able to travel in style to Swampy in 2 hours on a bullet train, egg on my face or what, but i can always sit in the new station

              I can assure you that once the trains get away from BKK and well into Issan , beyond Korat , they go very fast , though they probably shouldn't given the condition of the tracks .
