Beach masseuses hit hard by social distancing

Beach masseuses could eke out a living before the pandemic hit Pattaya, and hope to do so again once the restrictions are lifted.

 

In a time when beaches are closed and people are supposed to stay two meters apart, beach masseuses are faced with perhaps the biggest-ever threat to their livelihoods.

 

Kicked off the sand by Pattaya’s coronavirus-related beach closures, masseuses still wander around the shoreline footpath seeking customers. The pickings have been slim to say the least.
 

“Golf,” 37, said she’s had no real income for four months, dating back before the pandemic hit Pattaya but curbed the flow of Chinese tourists to Thailand.

Not the fact that in Chonburi beaches are no go areas for fear of jail and large fines!

Been a long time since I had a beach massage and having to cock one eye at my belongings.

They could probably find work on Vietnam’s beaches.  Follow the tourists.

Were they also on the way out, have their numbers slowly been dropping as Pattaya is about to be wiped off of planet earth?

and how do they get into Vietnam....thought there were NO border crossings or flights???!!!
