Surely if they really cared about their husbands/wives or kids they wouldn't be going overseas in the 1st place to leave them, would they? Unless it was an absolute emergency that they had to do that for some reason. Not a very smart comment.... I'm sure your teachers taught you 'brain into gear, mouth into neutral' or... you must have read the quote 'its better to remain silent and let people think you are an idiot than to speak out and remove all doubt'..... this is one of those discussions !!!... leave it for those less willing to express their galactic fookwittery ! Not many would have chosen to leave after knowing that they wouldn't get back in.
Popular Post Greg O 535
They left sometimes weeks before any lockdown and simply got caught in the middle then other countries such as UAE stopped departures of regular flights when they locked down after Thailand. Emirates and Etihad halted flights for a while etc, etc. The repatriation flights are an exception and allowed in.

Which part of this are you struggling with ? Don Mega takes the prize as the most obnoxious TV troll in a long while. 1. You're overseas separated from your family 2. You want to be with your family 3. You are willing to enter a 2-week government run quarantine upon your return 4. The Thai govt says NO 5. It's nonsensical, which is par for the course here Which part of this are you struggling with? 12

Not a nice predicament at all. I suspect that a lot of people are going to be in a difficult situation as time goes on, there will be retirees whose pension plans will have gone to the wall due to investments falling, this whole thing is going to hurt people badly. Indeed... this could have huge implications for many families. I now have great concern for my future standard of living in Thailand, with regards to rational work. If Thailand is going to impose these travel bans each time there is a surge, or a second wave, a third wave etc then living in Thailand is not an option and returning to the UK becomes a comfortable option - one I'm seriously considering. Its difficult to know what will happen. But I do know that if my Wife and Son were in the UK, In all likelihood, no matter where I was when lock-down kicked off, I'd be with them now. (if someone wants to counter this with stats of Thailand vs UK - the point was addressed much earlier in the thread).

Open your mind, people do not just leave for pleasure, they will be a lot of folks who work overseas, offshore etc. etc. that left to go to work, what are they supposed to do? Once at work, it would not be a simple task of popping on a plane back to here, especially if on a ship, platform, rig etc. I know of Thais that are stuck in UAE with no way of getting home either. Not every farang here is retired. 5
