Crossy
I just ordered a new solar inverter from a Chinese seller via AliExpress, I've used this seller several times before with no problems. Last time I bought inverters from the same outfit they used DHL and under-declared the value so I paid a "sensible" amount of duty and VAT. I was anticipating something similar this time, but they've offered me "Thailand Special Line" which I'm assuming is this service from Evereast https://www.evereastlogistics.com/product_23128_SpeciallinetoSingaporeMalaysiaThailand.html No duty to pay at this end and no additional charge (shipping was already US$107 on a US430 inverter). They said that they will "pay the duty" at their end. SimplyDuty.com put's duty on an inverter at 10% + 7% VAT so US$76 to pay leaving them US$31 for the shipping (of course they will under-declare). We shall see how it works out.
