Is anyone here into unusual hobbies....eg watching trains? bird watching? taking pics of unusual things? i travelled with a Aussie guy back in 2011 thru Northern Thailand,he had a most expensive camera and his pics were of.....roadside letterboxes !???? what about hobbies with Thai culture? taking up buddhism? For me, it's an interesting technical hobby. I was the only radio ham when I lived in Myanmar and I'm the only ham in Laos. (Thailand has many radio hams). Having been interested in radio since a small boy, I still find it amazing that my few watts of radio signal can travel from a few feet of antenna wire strung above my house, and through the ether to the other side of the world (and back again). While waiting to start one of my online science lessons that I teach from home, yesterday I contacted a radio ham in Uruguay, about 17,000 Km away... Provided it's 'primarily for pleasure' and not a 'regular occupation' Personally I would include drink, good food and vigorous sex (not necessarily in that order) amongst my hobbies. Got into it after losing my wedding ring whilst kayaking on a river near Phatalung.. Still not recovered my wedding ring, even after a couple visits back to the same place. This year i imported some special colored pigeons and now am trying to create new colors. We also have a bunch of other animals to take care off,canaries,budgies,doves,chinese quail,chickens, dogs ducks and cockatiels. Never a boring day but i must say the last couple of years the summer heat is starting to slow me down.
