webfact
Forty back from Saudi Arabia screened for Covid in Songkhla By The Nation Forty Thai students who returned from Saudi Arabia today (May 25) are being screened for Covid-19 at the Padangbesar Customs House in Sadao district, Songkhla. Immigrations officials are applying the same screening used previously on Thai Muslim pilgrims returning from Indonesia since Saudi Arabia is on the list of countries at high-risk for Covid-19. The desert kingdom has so far reported more than 70,000 cases of coronavirus. Meanwhile, Thai immigrant workers who have just arrived back in Songkhla from Malaysia have been separated from the students to prevent the spread of Covid-19. Anyone found with symptoms of the disease at the Sadao border point will be immediately sent to hospital to be tested for the virus. Those who test positive will be quarantined at the M SOHO Danok Hotel in Sadao. However, returnees who are residents of Pattani, Yala, Satun and Narathiwat can quarantine themselves in their hometowns.
