Trump’s response has been to declare Twitter’s action an attack on free speech and he goes on to say, ‘I, as President, will not let it happen’.

 

He seems not to understand Twitter is a private business, their platform is not a ‘public space’.

 

He also exposes he has little understanding of the limits of Presidential powers.

 

The root cause of his anger, somebody has the impertinence to challenge his lies.

Something ironic in Trump accusing Twitter of impeding freedom of speech, when he has abused the privilege so often. Of course, freedom of speech by fact checkers is not to be tolerated.

Apparently the 'problem' stems from the fact that the Good Lord, in His infinite wisdom, seems to have bestowed upon the "far-left" brains.  Virtually all of the innovations and discoveries come from folks whose ideology is left-leaning. Silicon Valley was built by leftists.

 

The late Roger Ailes tried to begin leveling the playing field by---according to his actual Business Plan---building a network to go after the Low IQ Demographic, people befuddled by issues that had even a modicum of complexity. He also purposely hired Talking Heads from 2nd and 3rd Tier Universities, because "the ignorant can better appeal to the ignorant'. He admitted in his funding spiel that the average target demo individual earned below average, but collectively they could represent a viable market for advertisers.

 

As a private company, a place like Fox is under no obligation to allow 1st Amendment Free Speech, especially after changes made for broadcasters by Reagan that no longer required 'equal time'. Twitter is allowed the same right to control its platform in whatever manner it so chooses.

True facts about the coronavirus are hard to come by and most are open to interpretation. Twitter has decided that it will be the final word on what is the truth and what isn't. That's exactly what the Chinese government does.

trump has pushed for legislation to enable him to sue media outlets contrary to 'free speech'. At the same time whilst President trump is immune from legal action to sue him for defamation / slander. trump tries to undermine democracy as demonstrated by Twitter removing his false allegations concerning mail in voter fraud. trump is a liar and a hypocrite.

Twitter is a private business. As such they can allow what is said on their platform and what is not said. It is not that difficult to understand.
I think we should be quite frank about what you mean by an attack on freedom of speech. You do not really care about freedom of speech do you? All you care about is that Trump is being called out on his lies.
