Motorbike Registration Renewal

Two Questions:

Given the Covid situation is the Chiang Mai DLT office open for renewing motorbike registration?

I’m  pretty sure I also need an inspection, any recommendations for a shop that can do both motorbike inspection and take care of registration?

Generally the inspection workshops are open for service.

DLT is open for tax/compulsory insurance issues.

I gone search the lates thread about Chiang Mai inspection workshops...

Can't find a list of inspection workshops.

Maybe this search helps (a dozen or more in CM city):

(the ones with the "ตรอ").

Look out for the yellow cogwheel:

I visited the checking station Friday to have an inspection on my 2015 PCX.
Over the years I've had my renewals done without an inspection, less than 5 years old.
I wasn't sure if I needed an inspection this year so I asked the checking station if required and he said yes.
I had the inspection and was asked for 850 baht, I didn't realise that they can send green book to DLT, I paid the money and I was told to come back in 2 days.

My  plan was to take my inspection slip to my insurances company and have them do the business.

Today I picked up my green book.
I asked for a breakdown of the fees.
She said the service fee was 200 baht, the inspection charge was 60 baht, tax 100 baht. My CTP Insurance fee was printed 430 baht. Total price should have been 790 baht. I'm not fussed as it is a small amount but next time I will have my insurance agent do the business after having my inspection.
My insurance agent over the years has charged me 100 baht (service fee) to send my green book to the DLT for processing, so 100 baht on top of the CTP and in future 60 baht for the inspection. Total 590 baht.
