A twenty seven year old Thai man is in the custody of the Klaeng police in Rayong after a series of shooting incidents near Bangkok and in the eastern seaboard province of Thailand.

The Klaeng to Ban Bung road had to be closed after the suspect fired at police. The situation was only resolved after relatives persuaded him to give himself up.

Earlier Thirawat, 27, had shot at a friend at a business in Samut Prakan and was facing an attempted murder charge before he fled east to Rayong.

There he was drinking at a Karaoke lounge on the Klaeng to Ban Bung road when relatives arrived to persuade him to give up.

Instead he shot at his younger brother in law Natthaphon, 23, with whom he had had a problem over a woman.

Natthaphon was hit in the right of the hip and taken to hospital and the suspect fled.

A gun and magazine plus a casing were found at the scene.

The road was shut as he ran into woods and fired at police and a one hour standoff began.

His mother and other relatives begged him to surrender and implored the police not to shoot him dead.

Eventually a call from another relative, a sibling of his parents,  persuaded him to give up.
