May be wrong, but I read it as mocking the "authorities" who are so concerned with Covid social distancing/tracking in shopping malls etc....but can't/won't find a way to help the needy, who feel they have no choice but to queue like this. So they at bigggggg minus, paying rent and other expenses and same time feeding poor. What a terrible situation . The poor and hungry being run off from queuing hours and hours before a food distribution place opens... Most government ministers in any country in the world would hang their heads in shame ... Down here in Phuket , the line ups dont start so early , as its pretty much only lunches provided by struggling expat businesses. Yes , once again its the Farang that are feeding the hungry and poor , the government having only dropped off all of 2 packages ( 2 days of food for a family of 4 per pack ) in FIVE WEEKS ! The food kitchens here are primarily run by middle market Farang Bar and Restaurant owners and their Thai wives and staff. Yes , we have an Intercontinental , and a Swissotel , and a Novotel and an 6 star Andara , but we havent seen them do anything. Not even the giant catering operation at Phuket Fatasea has come forward . Thats the biz that laid off 1800 staff. The only hotel locally distributing food is Cape Sienna Lodge . These big hotels come into the area , create traffic mayhem and runoff pollution while they build , - all the while claiming they are 'team players' and will create local jobs. But instead they import hundreds of low rate non-local workers puting further pressure on the flimsy systems , then throw them on the scrap heap when things go bad. Our recently arrived and very wealthy 'team players' are nowhere to be seen when its time to help the local community , AND put food into the mouths of the labourers THEY imported. Those workers are many hours from 'home' and have absolutely no support mechanisms. The neglect of those poor people ordered NOT to work is nothing short of shameful. 5
Deli
Locals should look over the border to Hong Kong and see how they go on the streets, when something is wrong. Some 100.000 hungry people marching could make a change
Leaver
Charity is not infinite. This situation is set to continue for the foreseeable future. At some stage, donations will run out. When they do, if the government does not provide assistance, things could head south. Eg. riots, looting, crime.

And at the same time still no any news about the generosity of the 1% of the thais (500 000 people) owning 70% of the country's wealth. I am sure they could feed all the poors Thais during months without even feel the pain on their money reserve. Thais rak thais? mmmm

Thai government will pay their people to go on holidays - up to half off hotel cost to stimulate tourism Plenty of employed people in Thailand will take advantage of the 50% off deal, those destinations will have to cater to the holiday makes thus some of these needy people will be re-employed. Stimulation packages are a wonderful thing.

Why doesnt the governor of Pattaya set up a few all day food kitchens where the hungry can come for a meal three times a day. A highly profitable jetski scam ran for many years with ease and full cooperation from the the boys in brown and knowledge of foreign ambassadors. So whats so difficult about feeding their own people at least they would get kudos for that simple operation. Money only goes one way in Thailand. My wife and I are helping a family of four (her sister and nieces) with some and they have stopped paying their rent as have many others. But he situation is dire if it doesn't get back to normal and soon. A hungry people are angry people and they all know what is going on now elsewhere to add fuel to the flames.

Leadership and economic management for all Thai citizens, during this crisis, has been completely absent. What's disturbing for the Thai people is their no confidence in the current government will not be able to be seen at the ballot box, in the next election.
