jacko45k
A halo around the sun is a fairly common phenomenon. It is typically caused when there are very high, very thin clouds. These clouds, being so high in the sky, are made from ice crystals. ... Since high clouds typically proceed unsettled weather, it is said a halo around the sun or moon means rain or snow is on the way. I am guessing it won't be snow in Bang Saray. Kerryd
If I recall, the "halo" around the sun (or moon) is indicative of moisture in the air at high altitudes. A close, "tight" halo means a lot of moisture (and potential wet weather soon) while a wide halo means the air "up there" is drier (thus less moisture to refract the light from the sun/moon) and probably means good (dry) weather for awhile. The little green spot is being piloted by a little green man ... I've contacted Mulder & Scully and they are now on the case .. but due to Bat flu travel restriction their investigates could be delayed .
kwonitoy
Northern Alberta we called them sun dogs, usually seen in the winter when there's a lot of ice crystals up high to diffuse the light
redwood1
The Halo is caused by the sun reflecting of the dome......This is pretty common knowledge....
