That's a fatalistic attitude.  I choose idealism and to work towards that idealism.

It's a view not an attitude.  Your idealism is stuck in a 100 year down trend but i'm sure Opera, Elon Musk or some other clown that Americans choose as their next president will turn it all around.  You should work towards breaking free of the left-right paradigm.

If that were the case you'd be agreeing with him. The Democrats and Republicans only pass laws that Americans overwhelmingly disapprove of and fail to pass the laws that they overwhelmingly desire to be passed. You'd think they were serving a different master than the electorate. And if you did think that way, you'd be right.

How about a ratings system similar to film and TV?

And those deciding ratings should be of the sort that run politifact. Washington Post or New York Times should not be involved (I subscribe to NYT, if that matters).

Imperfect? Sure. There should be some way to allow Trump to continue posting unfounded nonsense, but posting of warning (which may be ignored) seems reasonable.

It seems to have evaded you, this is a discussion forum.

That's what Shakespeare said:   "This life, which had been the tomb of his virtue and of his honour, is but a walking shadow; a poor player, that struts and frets his hour upon the stage, and then is heard no more: it is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing."  Or sumthin' like that.

Did he also profess to be a Democrat, I can’t recall but someone did.

The evidence is Trump cares very much about his lies being challenged.

His fragility on the matter has been demonstrated on a number of occasions.

He cannot stand being called out and held accountable.

He seems to have you right where he wants you. The only time I've ever seen him genuinely angry is when his own toadies fail to back his move. And, hey, it's an election year and that's to be expected.

trump to being fact checked by Twitter.

Slip

That is the problem.  Who is doing the checking and what they portray as being FACTS   All of the studies have shown there is a bias in the media.  If you look at the number of negative posts regarding conservative principles versus liberal ones you get a small sense that this isn't fact checking it is censorship.  The newspapers, tv and radio repeatedly present things as FACTS but are not fact checked and they are routinely found to misrepresent the actual truth.

If I am in charge of FACT CHECKING you, my views of what the truth is will certainly bias what I say is THE TRUTH.

It's possible but unlikely. So, are you saying that every law that is on the books that came into being before Trump became president is a good law?

Yeah . . . there was a similar code that should have barred Hillary from running for president due to her physical  treatment of that damned email server. I only bring this up to show these codes aren't worth the digital paper they're written on. There is NO rule of law in the US any more, it's devolved to a banana republic with oligarch overlords.

I could care less if he goes to prison. I just want his name erased from all history books.

Better not. It should remind how irresponsable people are when the vote...
