snoop1130 Posted May 29, 2020 Share Posted May 29, 2020 Bangkok’s closest beach prepares to reopen on Monday By The Nation Bang Saen beach will unveil the “new normal” for visits to the seaside when it reopens on Monday (June 1). The closest beach to Bangkok is expected to be flooded by visitors from Monday as people seek an escape from three months of lockdown. However, Saensuk municipality mayor Narongchai Khunpluem said visitors should prepare for a “new normal” at the beach, where social distancing rules would be in place. Visitors are also advised to take along their own food this week, since food stalls will be banned from the beach area until June 5 (Friday). Local officials have been ordered to prepare the beach and sea for the return of tourists, after Chonburi governor Phakthon Thianchai gave the green light for it to reopen, Narongchai said today (May 29). “However, we will not allow retailers to sell foods as we have to arrange beach chairs in line with the ‘new normal’ to prevent the spread of Covid-19,” he added. The plan for phased easing of restrictions at at Bang Saen beach is as follows: June 1: Tourist are allowed to play or swim in the sea, but retailers are prohibited from selling food. June 2-4: Retailers are allowed to set up beach chairs in line with new normal, but prohibited from selling food. June 5: Retailers are allowed to sell food to tourists. He added that stallholders will be banned from selling food every Monday. If Monday is a holiday, the ban will move to Tuesday. Just grasp the fact that there is a holiday Monday coming up early July and they do not want to deprive the traders of that lucrative day, nor the customers the service. Why they have a day off per week escapes me, unless they are going to make the traders go out and clean up the mess they are responsible for.
