are you in hua  hin? i ask because there is a new bus service set up just north of the Sombat terminal that goes HH to ekamai bus terminal. sorry i don't have the number. if you are in bkk maybe look around at ekamai for their sign.

I really want a direct bus to the airport

I've been past the station where Bell Travel departs from and it has been closed

I'll probably just get a taxi

When they refunded me for my April ticket (i could not change date only refund) they said they should be working by September which was my new flight date

I had checked the Bell Bus Suvarnabhumi to Pattaya and it still shows "no data" for long.

And sure: with the few domestic travelers they simply can't fill the buses.
