ravip
Washington, DC paints a giant 'Black Lives Matter' message on the road to the White House Full article Do people really need such signs to remind that lives matter? What sort of behaviour is this, and in a country supposed to be 'developed'? 1st world, 2nd world, 3rd world, developed country, developing country, undeveloped country... are these also meant to 'class' humans like Black & White and all in-between? The issue is the USA finally (maybe?) addressing it's original sin of slavery that set up black people to be treated as "less than" even today with persistent structural racism. There is a report in the U.S. senate of a black republican senator (a right winger) who has been stopped many many times by police as being suspicious. That doesn't happen to white senators. Is this clear enough for you now or do you really not want to understand?

phetchy
Apologies if there have been similar posts - 27 pages just shows the extent of peoples feelings. This thread started a week or so ago and since the killing of George Floyd two weeks ago, many things have happened. In amongst the often chaotic scenes seen in the media around the world, there are examples of good and bad on both sides depending on your viewpoint. The thing that I find most worrying, is not the fact that Trump is still the President, but that there are probably enough voters in the USA to get him re-elected. The George Floyd incident, the Bible photo op, the old guy pushed over and ignored by the police, his many scandalous alleged relationships etc. etc. What are these people on? He didn't seem too see anything bad in what went on and implied the incident was "a great thing". “Hopefully George is looking down right now and saying this is a great thing that’s happening for our country.” He added: “This is a great day for him. It’s a great day for everybody. This is a great day for everybody. This is a great, great day in terms of equality.” A great day for him? I'm sure his family and friends won't see it in the same way. The man is unhinged. 2
