But have you heard ???? when the bars reopen they won’t just be instituting separation, QR code’s and face masks, but a dress code.

That may be good for the ladyboy bars but the others ..... shall wait and see.

What is your problem? Did you go to the Trump school of "How to win friends and influence people"?

I hope you aren't going to turn into some kind of stalker. Mods take a dim view of stalkers, but I reckon you know that already.

Rubbish.

Care to elaborate or is that succinct prose all that you are able to offer to the conversation?

You could start by explaining why you disagree with my viewpoint, and then perhaps offer an alternative viewpoint yourself?

Not a Trump man myself more trained by John Cleese.

But back to the topic at hand, which did drift a bit, if the Thai hierarchy are scared to open because of schools having to close again if another outbreak occurs would not this be least of their worries. Should they not open the bars first and prove that there would be no COVID19 spread and then the schools. It was proven the schools could function by zoom and tv media classrooms. I cannot see a bar functioning like this, as 80 baht for a virtual drink a bit on the steep side.

Only time will tell when the big boys will give a date for opening the bars, but I will put it out there first. I reckon 6th July.

Just had a tour round the Darkside, Pattaya.  2 restaurants closed days a go were open. A third restaurant that I went in, serving beer in coffee mugs. BJ bar around the corner from me which has had no signs of life since mid March had all the girls outside, eating food.

I smell the wind of change......

That is good news that some stanky down yonder are able to have their tonsils tickled and make some cash. CM is rather dead but I have seen some thai places outside the city with coffee cups. Mom and pop shops get some gatherings as well, so something is normal. I would gather if you want a gal you got to get her online.

I don't think that they are working yet (other than by social media) but its clear that the bar has called them very recently and told them to get back to Pattaya pronto. I took that as a sign.

Thai and alcohol go hand in hand. Not all the time but they sure do like to get together and drink and eat.

Well it sounds like good movement in the right direction.

I ask myself why are people so worried about being able to drink? since you can buy drink it must be you need to drink with others?  the way most of you talk there is no life without the beer bars.  is watching life go by from the beer patio  all you have to live for? and having however friendly interactions with much younger women who only value you because you have thick wallets.

I know I would be sad living in a condo with no garden to tend, no access to my hobbies,  or workshop.   without bats as md other drunks many of you  have no life.  I can imagine QR codes scare you.   maybe the definition of bad out good in will change in the future.

Remember each to their own, within reason. As you say that some on here talk that there is no life without beer bars can I spin your conversation on its head. Close all the churches, places of arguably, need of certain Hypocritical people to gather. I bet if that was removed and left till last there would be rivers of tears flowing. A lot of people here treat the bars as their place of worship, a place where they are accepted and can enjoy themselves. And these people are not forced to donate to the bars unlike those in certain churches. But, the bars will open (just like the churches have) and we will provide some sustenance of relief not just to the owners but staff as well.

But as your not here in Thailand, it would be remiss of you to comment, like it would be remiss of us to comment on what is occurring in other countries at this time. Remember some people have a hobby of socialising, enjoying good conversation, even taking the pi$$ but it is their life to enjoy.

Here endith the lesson, Amen!!! Yes we need to drink with others. There is no life without beer bars. Yes watching life from the "beer patio" is all we have. Friendly interactions with younger woman is the best part albeit, that keeps the wallet thin. What are your hobbies apart from feeling sad for a whole bunch of people who enjoy life and by the sound of your <deleted> about bats and drunks your are into something heavily laced there brother!

I think it's important to keep in mind that it's these peoples jobs to provide warnings, be cautious, and act conservatively and not put themselves in a position to lose face by opening things up too soon.  They are not necessarily the best people to decide how others should live their lives.

There are lots and lots of doctors on the front lines who say that most restrictions should be lifted.  It depends on the area but most areas around the world have very very low numbers of cases now.

It's social interaction whether that is a beer bar, a sports bar or a Thai bar. Sometimes watching the world go by with a cold beer or 2 or 3 is nice way to spend the afternoon or evening. It's also good sitting in a go go bar looking at boobs too????

First up your showing ignorance. Many folk enjoy alcohol with meal etc.

BTW leave out "succinct prose". Clearly inferiority complex.

Get a grip.

Even light drinkers enjoy enjoy little bit of freedom.

Have you seen mrt screenshots etc.

This government has complete fixation on alcohol ban. They are using that as smoke screen to ban protests.

You don't live here surely.

No need of alcohol for that. Works as well for me with a can of Coke Zero. ????
