Culture Ministry proposes holidays from July 4th to 9th for Songkran celebrations

Recommended Posts

Thailand’s Ministry of Culture will propose, to the Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA), the declaration of special public holidays, from July 4th to 9th, for belated Songkran celebrations, which were postponed from mid-April due to the coronavirus pandemic.

"To put in perspective":

July 4: Saturday

July 5: Asanha Bucha, alcohol prohibited

July 6: substitute holiday for 5.

7,8,9 (Thursday) "Songkran"

Does one really expect that Fri, July 10, anything will be open/happen?

So Sat Jul 4 to Sun Jul 12 "holyweek"?

And that after the expected "grand opening" on July 1??

That will be fun (on the road and elsewhere).

Which means that school will not really start before July 13th!

After 4 months of holidays, do the children need...more holidays?

And does the moribund economy need to restart with a holiday?
