Popular Post webfact
Thai PM appeals for patience over further easing of lockdown measures Thailand’s Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha has appealed to the public not to pressure the Government to hasten the fourth phase of the easing of lockdown restrictions, noting that it must be done step-by-step. Speaking to the media at Government House today (Tuesday), the Prime Minister urged the public to cooperate fully with the Government, by observing the basic guidelines for the prevention of the spread of COVID-19, including social distancing, the wearing of face masks in public and regular washing of hands with sanitizer gel. He stressed that full cooperation from the public will be the key factor in determining the timing of the fourth phase of relaxations. The Prime Minister said that frontline health workers, and all officials involved in the fight to contain coronavirus, have been working tirelessly for public safety adding, however, that without public cooperation their efforts will be futile. It didn't seem to be a big deal early on, but now ??? Yeah, it's good to reduce traffic and pollution, noise at night and whatnot. At what cost to the common people? The PM needs to wash his mask. Looks like creepy-crawlies are growing on it. Ewww!

Popular Post steven100
Khun Prayut has done an excellent job in curbing the COVID19 infection rate and transmission of the virus. Stringent measures were put in place as needed and on the whole most Thai's agreed with these measures. Let's hope the Wuhan flu dies a slow and painful death as a result of the world wide lockdown. alant
I wonder what the social distancing is supposed to achieve? At the start of the pandemic the opinion expressed was that around 80% of the population was going to be infected in one way or another. Social distancing was to ensure the acute services were not swamped. Is that the case? If so Thailand may well stay in whatever phase of isolation for centuries until all the population has been exposed. Or is the objective simply to let the infection run its course without infecting the general population?

Once again the PM has shot himself in the foot, I agree with the step-by-step policy but unless they are planning to use the reintroduction of alcohol as a scapegoat for the opening up of the country to outside tourists when the numbers increase once again, they should definitely let the restaurants serve alcohol and open the open-air bars before outside tourists are allowed into the country so everyone will know where the increase has come from then think about opening up the entertainment side of things with go go bars and discos ets. 6 1 1

Totally agree but for a solid two months my market was jammed & everyone wore a mask, same on BTS according to Sigg. Say what you will, Italy, the US and Brazil are paying a price because they did not get serious about masks. 1 2

The CCP are his best buds, and you saw what happened to those students commemorating the Tiananmen Square massacre. He will not tolerate any criticism of the CCP. Especially not by some ‘farangs’. 1

Laws need to be enforced otherwise they are useless. Even worse - people will hardly care about laws at all if the government does not care much too. 1

Popular Post spidermike007
Open everything up. Now. No need to wait. Covid is gone. It is eradicated. You love the power so much, you cannot let it go. But the people desperately need to get back to work, and you claim to care about these people. You know what? Stop talking, and start acting. The proof is in the pudding. Show us. Stop telling us. Do something. Masks and social distancing mean nothing, when you have no virus to fight. 3

Trust me, that is the plan. 2 well known bar owners in Pattaya have said that they expect to be open on June 14th but wouldn't reveal their sources. For me, the smart money is on July 1st. What ever the date, the physical signs I saw yesterday suggest that its imminent.
