Thai media Naew Na reported that a Thai lady was sipping a coffee on a sofa in a luxury house in Jomtien Park Villa when she noticed a strange smell yesterday.

The light was on in the room of Damien M., aged 66 and when Pawanee, 41, opened the door she found him dead in bed dressed only in a pair of black shorts.

When she regained her composure she called the authorities who determined that Mr Damien had been deceased for at least 24 hours.

There were no signs of a struggle or theft at the property that Naew Na said was luxuriously decorated.

Pawanee explained that she had been with the deceased for the last five years. He suffered from gout and heart problems.

Just recently she said he had the shakes and could barely walk when they were out so they headed home. He would not seek medical attention and went to bed.

She said that she was just relaxing over a coffee and saw the light on in his room and imagined that he must have gone for a nap.

However, a smell soon pervaded the house and she went to open his door and found what had happened.

Police found lots of medications and ordered an autopsy at the Police Hospital.

Naew Na said that the victim was from Iceland. Thaivisa cautions that Thai media often mistakes Iceland for Ireland.
