Mayor Sonthaya Kunplome (seated left) joins the fun painting coconuts to brighten the depressed pandemic atmosphere.

Pattaya encouraged residents to paint coconuts that are being hung around the city to brighten the depressed pandemic atmosphere.

Mayor Sonthaya Kunplome presided over the hanging of the first coconuts fashioned into windchimes along Pattaya Beach May 31.

Is now a good time to visit Pattaya, without the sexpats?

Still don't see anyone on the beach.

Went to Jomtian beach around 1PM and the crowd size was reasonable. But mostly Thais and probabaly visitors from Bangkok. In my condo, I saw few Thai families came Friday evening to spend the weekend, I guess.
