JCP108
And, tomorrow, there will be a report of one (or two or three) new cases. None will be transmissions within Thailand. All will be people who just returned from another country. No mention of how many tests performed at the two reference labs.
JetsetBkk
"The new case is a 26-year-old Thai man who recently returned from Saudi Arabia" Are people, who have returned from abroad, tested as a matter of course? How many new cases would be found if everyone in the country were tested?

shortstop
Sure there's not widespread testing in Thailand. But if someone went to the hospital seriously sick with covid symptoms he would be tested, right? Yet, no new cases. Am I missing something here? Perhaps Thailand is doing too good a job of stopping the current spread which could be counterproductive in the long run. Somewhat comparable countries such as the Philippines and Indonesia could be closer to herd immunity albeit at the cost of many more deaths. They will all be quarantined, apparently there are private options now but it's still a full 14 day quarantine.

Tested and if positive hospitalized, if nef^gative quarantined for 14 days and re-tested an day 13 befor edischarge from quarantine Obvioulsy more cases, mosrt of the asymptomatioc will be found if there is more testing. That is true anywhere. But the yield would likely not be very high at this point

She could be the Grand Pooh Bah of All Medical Matters Everywhere, and I would still ask for a source. Ad hominem argument = when you can't address the substance, personally attack your opponent.
