webfact
Floods rise in five provinces as monsoon blows in By The Nation Flooding has hit the provinces of Mae Hong Son, Nan, Phitsanulok, Loei and Samut Prakan after several days of heavy rain. A total of 126 households across the five affected provinces have been inundated by the floods, according to the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation, which is collaborating with the Army and local authorities to help the victims. Low pressure in the North combined with the southwest monsoon has brought rainstorms in the North, the Northeast, the East, Central Region and the South, triggering flash floods and landslides in rural areas. The department is now evacuating flood victims from danger zones and organising the installation of water pumps. Victims are now receiving help and food supplies while officials evaluate the damage. Left hand says drought, right hand says flooding ! Sounds Biblical. Don't left the right hand know what the left hand is doing. Or was that something about girlfriends being kept on different sides?
