Thai Rath interviewed the head of the Krabi hoteliers' association who was under no illusions about the rest of the year regarding tourists from abroad.

Wichuphan Srisanya said that she was expecting few if any foreign tourists to visit in 2020.

Her members had to accept that what little tourism there would be would come almost entirely from the domestic Thai market.

The media reported that some small hotels were now reopening in the southern Thai province but big hotels with big overheads were remaining shut for the time being.
