JCP108
So, when Thai people return on these flights, they all automatically go into a 14-day quarantine. But, they are not all tested with tests that run through the two reference labs, right? They are only tested if they show symptoms (like a fever) and we don't know if the tests are run through the two labs, right?
sapson
The trend continues, just stunning!from a population of 70 mil only one case from all those tested daily and the returnees, so amazing almost defies belief. Surely the WHO and Trump and Boris must be making private contact with Prayut at this very moment to garnish the secrets of this miraculous policy against Covid!! perhaps its the temp guns at 7/11 or should the worlds populace just eat somtam.... never mind a vaccine. If only they would be a little more transparent in their methodology so we could share and relish in the success.

From what I've seen about the process, the reference lab tests only come after there is already a positive from the "lesser" labs, if they come. That'd be three tests for a confirmation. In the charts where the testing numbers are and is updated every few weks, a couple of weeks ago it looked like NIH lab, one of the reference labs, had done around 4-5k tests (the slide is always so foggy that it's hard to read though). It's a small lab, BIDI next door has a bigger one.
DrTuner
I like leaks. Like this gem in MoPH's own guidelines: https://ddc.moph.go.th/viralpneumonia/file/g_srrt/g_srrt_030663.pdf See that column "News" there? That'd be this thread. As you can see, multiple are confirmed and admitted, but not published in News. Gotta love sloppy documentation. It's from their own internal system that's behind a login. That document is a nice little peephole into the secret world of MoPH. Likely you'll be one of the silent carriers, asymptomatic.

Show us any evidence! Why have the Southern states in the USA (Texas, Florida or Southern California), which get lots of Sun and vitamin D got so many cases if vitamin D is the answer? Much, much more than you would think..... Why? Because they hate the sun and avoid it wherever possible. If that means sitting in a room with a fan then that's what they do 1

As far as i was aware, they were put into state quarantine places. Got 3 meals placed outside the hotel room door. Ordering from Grab or Food Panda was prohibted for warm food. Temperature checks were required to be reported everyday to a person in a line group that monitors about 10 people per group that checked into the hotel. 2 covid tests, 1st being around 7 days and 2nd around 13 days stay. I followed that up to see if other people within other state places and yes they got the test too without symptons. The hotels were ranging from pattaya to bangkok and mainly 3 star hotels. Many people don't process vitamin D from the sun very well or don''t spend enough time in the sun. I had huge problems getting sick a couple of years back. Started taking 5k IU liquid vitamin D3 everyday and only have been ill once since then. I think many people's immune systems would benefit from vitamin D supplements. Most people from middle eastern countries I have seen have their whole bodies completely covered to protect from the sun. There are a number of articles discussing the importance of vitamin D3 in the prevention and lowing the mortality rate for covid. Here are a few. It seems vitamin D is especially helpful for upper respiratory infections in general. Seems that daily dosages are the recommended serving. https://www.thelancet.com/journals/landia/article/PIIS2213-8587(20)30183-2/fulltext https://theconversation.com/does-vitamin-d-protect-against-coronavirus-138001 https://www.researchsquare.com/article/rs-21211/v1 https://www.theatlantic.com/health/archive/2020/06/paging-dr-hamblin-can-vitamin-d-stop-coronavirus/612547/
Sametboy2019
Yes actually vitamin D is one of the main factors in "different races". Our skin changes colour to adapt to our geographic location. Hence why as people migrated north from the equator thier skin became lighter as did their eyes to absorb vitamin d. It is a major factor in the regulation of our endocrine system. Ancient cultures even worshipped the sun. The darker your skin the more vitamin d you need (the sun). You can see the results from African/ Carribbean/ Indian peoples cancer rates living in colder climates

Yes the poor practices at European and American elderly care homes is the main thing behind the huge death totals in the west.
