What do you mean 'we', I've always enjoyed watching news of cities burning ..... especially when they're a long way away.

Frankly, I am a bit of an anarchy fan too. Especially when it is being done within a society that is as denigrated, disenfranchised, and in the level of decline and denial America currently is. Sometimes, something drastic has to happen to wake a nation up.

I give kudos to Leo for taking a stand on this. It is a lot more than alot of famous people are doing. It shows moral conviction, and courage. If Trump really cared, and wanted to make a real statement he would do the same thing. It could have quite an impact. However the moral courage quality is missing there. And he never gives away any of his money, so that is not really an option.

Perhaps Leo should apologise for acting the part of a slave owner in a movie not so long ago then. Not a good and kind slave owner either- a really bad one.

Perhaps you should have read about how the black actors told him it was necessary.

That's probably done by a small number of people.

The cops are also going around beating just about everyone.

Good, hit them harder and for longer.

Anarchy has no place in society

You brought up the elephant in the room. The native Americans have had it far worse than blacks, but no protests for them. Probably because if one acknowledges their existence one has to accept that one is living on land stolen from a people that were almost exterminated by the settlers, and continue to live in appalling conditions.

It should be compulsory in every American school to read Bury my heart in Wounded Knee.

What about all the other immigrants to America?

Koreans, Indians and all others from around the world. Never hear any protests or faux outrage groups being created

It's always the Blacks whinging about everything and expecting a free pay cheque from the govt.

The major sport's stars often are catalysts too, Le Bron James should be in jail for inciting violence

Still playing the slave card from 400 years ago. Man up, work hard and get a job like all the other immigrants in the US

He backs the Black community and has a LOT of supporters

They just don't show it on CNN

Black unemployment was at it's lowest levels ever before Chinese flu hit the US

There were jobs galore

The anarchy is from left wing fascists who start all the aggro and then let the blacks take over for the cameras and play their part as useful idiots

There is a great video on Instagram where a black guy breaks down the destruction of a cop car. White bourgeoisie scumbags start it and let the mob take over

I think the native American Indians could use the help while you're at it .

I'm glad I'm not in the UK now.

Too much conformity to keep up with. Now you have to kneel outside your house whilst clapping at the same time  keeping 2 meters away from everyone and practice incest when you go indoors. Hard to keep track of it all.

Sounds like you have a persecution complex.

Actually no one in the UK HAS TO clap outside their house and I don't know where you get the incest idea. No one has to kneel either.

But people would appreciate it if you could wear a mask on public transpart and try to keep your distance from strangers as the virus is still out there. When you have a friend or relative who has either died or is still suffering from the extreme effects of this virus, you appreciate these practical measures without feeling persecuted.

Blimey I don't know what to think. Leo is determined to end this disenfranchisement. The state of being denied a right or privilege, for example, the right to vote.

Forgive me, I'm a Brit. But don't black people have the right to vote in the US? If they do, how can they be disenfranchised? 15th Amendment, I believe.....

As for so called celebs, if they spend too much time out of the public eye, they always come up with something the papers think will sell. Whilst everyone has the right to an opinion, no one has the right to force it on others.

As for the comments about the UK, no one is forcing you to clap or bend a knee, and for sure no one is forcing you to commit incest.

There are a few ways it's being done. Demanding ID to vote, voter registration, gerrymanders, denying the vote to people with a criminal record - that's just off the top of my head.

No but you have to be stupid

This seems to be a rather sensitive thread. There seem to be alot of white ex-pats here who are less than fond of people of color. Why, one might ask would they pick Thailand as a place to live?

I am rather grateful to have had close relationships with Blacks, Asians, Native Americans, and Latinos. It has given me some perspective and has allowed me to refrain from making statements of profound ignorance like the one I am responding to.

What can one even say?

You want to help black people, find a way to stop them rioting. They are destroying their own communities, putting their own people out of work.

They were much better off before the riots. All they'll get from what they are doing is an even more dysfunctional relationship with authorities and virtue signalling from white liberals.

There’s lot of white people rioting and looting, too. I agree, though, the looting is just despicable and they’re not there because of Floyd, they’re there because the opportunity presents itself to loot, burn and steal!

UK mother Helen Leathem recently tweeted this photo of her daughter 'taking a knee' and apologising for being white.

Yes, I have a much read copy of that book within my eyesight right now and totally agree with you. Should be part of the American national curriculum . Tell the Indians about MAGA.

Better books than Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee are the Communist Manifesto, Das Kapital, and Works of Lenin. Chairman Mao’s “Little Red Book” Quotations From Chairman Mao Tsetung is also a good little book.
Not long now, and Communist Marxist-Leninism will return big time as we build Socialism in America and the west.  Things are beginning to come together now. History is being made in the streets.
Soon, oppressive bourgeois capitalism will be confined to the dustbins of history were it belongs. The downtrodden proletariat will take possession of all the means of production and the capitalists will be disposed of.
The horrible killing of George Floyd is only the excuse we needed. If not him, then something else would have been the excuse. Workers of the World Unite!
The years of work in western classrooms is beginning to bear fruit.

Going a bit off topic, but then it is relevant to your post........

America's fear of communism has led it into several wars, many diplomatic scuffles and lots of lost lives, when it didn't need to be that way.

The reason being is that ideals like communism need fertile ground on which to prosper, and when I say communism, I do not mean what a lot of people here refer to as "lefties/socialists". So there is no reason whatsoever why a country like America or any other successful capitalist country need fear communism, because there is no basis or need for it.

By all means look at putting in place socialist programs to help the poor and disenfranchised, but along the same lines, help them to help themselves.

For whatever reason, more black folk in America are killed at the hands of the police, than any other race, and many times in very questionable circumstances and that shows a distinctive trend going back decades, even centuries, but it won't be fixed unless it is addressed by leaders who want to address it, and that does not include the current moron in charge.

Interesting point you make, because I had an American friend living here and the subject of racism came up because he was always calling black folks by the "N" word and I didn't like it.

In the ensuing conversation I asked if it was just about colour and he said yes anyone that wasn't white would fit his agenda, and then I said to him that he was living in Thailand, so how did that go down with him?........ his answer was, "well they're not white are they".

It was about that time when I suggested that we end our friendship, not only because of his racist attitude, but also because of his constant lying, which I really couldn't abide.

I think Mr Catoni should catch up on the latest world events ... Both China and Russia is as far from the old classic communism as you can get .....

Both highly 'capitalistic' and materialistic with a different view on democracy as defined by us in the west.

Non of that 'take form the rich and give to the poor as was the mantra in the old days when the working man was forever doomed to work the land and bow to the 'boss' ... Now all the red flag waving you see is nothing but nostalgia for the people to not 'forget the past' and work hard to let the nation prosper so they all can have iphone. plasma screens and go to Thailand for holiday every 6 months ????

Some jealous posters on here. I wasnt aware you had to be poor to support black lives matter.

Depends on what you mean by black lives matter.

Support anti racism, all forms of racism, anti hate speech, anti racially motivated different applications of the law, for sure.

Deplore police brutality for sure. Against all.

Not rioting for political agendas that have nothing to do with protesting police brutality; rioting as an excuse for theft and vandalism.

And most certainly against any racism by any group who believe they are self entitled and above the law because of their race.

Yeah. He sounds like a confused man. I have a number of friends who I would consider racist. Good guys. But, a shortcoming, for sure. They genuinely seem to hate black people. From any country. Yet, they are married to Thai women. I have often asked how they reconcile that. Black, yellow, red. All minorities, in your nation, right? They tend to give me this blank stare, or some nonsense about her being light skinned, or some other psycho babble dribble. Racism is racism, from my point of view. Either you are tolerant or you are not. Many white people are not.
