Buses start rolling into Phuket

PHUKET:-- The first interprovincial bus into Phuket since the COVID-19 lockdown came into effect arrived at Phuket Bus Terminal 2 in Rassada, north of Phuket Town, from Phang Nga at 7am today (June 5).

Phuket marks 11 days without new COVID-19 infection, total holds at 227

PHUKET: The Phuket Communicable Disease Committee today (June 5) reported zero new cases of people infected with COVID-19, marking the 11th consecutive day that no new infections have been reported on the island.

SET rises sharply as foreign investors return in droves

The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) was the only index in the region to rise sharply as foreign investors spent more than Bt11 billion on Thai stocks, said Nuttachart Mekmasin, research analyst at Trinity Securities.

Gloomy future as further economic contraction predicted

Siam Commercial Bank’s Economic Intelligence Centre (EIC) has further revised downward its economic projection for this year, and predicted that the baht will reverse its course and weaken in the Covid-19 fallout.

UK extends ban on evicting tenants during coronavirus outbreak

LONDON (Reuters) - The British government said on Friday it would extend a ban on evicting tenants from social or private rented accommodation in England and Wales by two months to Aug. 23 due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Officials to check land claimed by ex-Future Forward party leader’s mother
