Why would you want to counteract it if it was going to help prevent YOU from getting Covid?

Confirmed cases should not be walking about the streets, so they would be rare.

They would but I think its more to do with avoiding an area/shop where a confirmed case had visited. Obviously that confirmed case had been traced and his history is then in the app to let people know where he had been. One would presume he's now isolated.

Well at least Bill Gates is not behind this.

What do you expect from Singapore?

They are a very specific society.

I think the vast majority of people there trust that their government policies are in their Interests and freedoms and privacy are secondary to prosperity, health, and security.

But I could be wrong.

Hopefully.

Only way to make sure they carry it with them is to drill it into the bone.

In saying that, the people who complain about this realize of course that if you carry a mobile they know where you are anyway, they just do not advertise it

You can leave your phone at home, a tracking wristband you cannot unless you want a visit.

My Chinese step daughter told her mum, "Singapore is crazy.  Everyone there is Chinese but nobody can speak Chinese.  They all speak English."

With that accent I wouldn’t call it English.
