Popular Post rooster59
Hua Hin: Filthy restaurant closed down after complaints about overcharging on Facebook Images: Daily News Hua Hin authorities paid a visit to a seafood restaurant on Sai Noi beach after a customer called "Sunisa" complained about being ripped off on Facebook. Sunisa said that she was with friends from Bangkok when a party of eight of them ordered Tom Yam Ruam Mit and Khao Phat Ruam Mit. These should contain a variety of seafood. They contained only squid. When she complained she was allegedly told by the waiter that squid was all they had. They were charged the full price and there was also a disagreement about sitting in a beachside tent - she said they were charged for eight people when three of the party had spent all the time in the sea. The 50 year old owner said she was mystified by the post as she explained about the "ruam mit" dishes beforehand, gave them a lovely fried bass and adjusted the charges for sitting in the tent. However, the authorities found that the woman owner was contravening the Covid-19 rules. There was no hand gel and no one was wearing masks. In addition the kitchen and storage facilities were absolutely filthy. They were ordered shut for five days from today until the 10th of June to get their act together. The owner accepted this compromise, reported Daily News. She did not know about the state of the kitchen when she complained about the squid and the tent. Those were also not the reasons it was closed by authorities. I once ordered shrimps only instead of mixed seafood and the bill was even higher. Did I make a big story out of it? Probably not as you have not heard of it. Maybe she just got extra squid in her dish, making up for the same price. According to the report she has even been informed beforehand. Still she needs to complain publicly? Seafood restaurant in a seaside resort? One would think they have fresh fish. And the guys not using the tent. They didn't sit down a second, didn't leave their belongings in the tent maybe? I also know those tricks. 4 people come to a restaurant but only 2 order buffet. Still all of them are full in the end surprisingly... 1

And many are not. It depends on the owners more than the staff. If the food is good and the staff happy then most of the time it follows that the place is clean, If the owners are cheap and nasty and the staff are the same then probably the place should be closed down.

Thank you. My wife's restaurant has had such a sign legitimately for 7 years. Last Health Department check was 6 days ago. Oh. It is also "up country". But I do agree many places including Bangkok fall very short of hygiene standards that should be considered a minimum. Then again I will never forget the gross condition of toilets in M.cDonalds outlets in Italy ! And legend has it the Romans invented plumbing !
