Koh Samet (Samet Island) in Rayong province will reopen to the public on July 1, after being closed during the Covid-19 crisis.

The reopening is in line with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment’s policy to reopen all national parks nationwide.

Koh Samet is a part of the Khao Laemya - Koh Samet National Park.

National Parks chief Prayoon Pongpan had earlier said that park officials, together with local ones, had started cleaning the island, as well as its ports, to be ready to greet visitors next month.

hi, can someone confirm that some resorts are actually already open and that when taking a speed boat directly to a resort on the other side, it is possible to go as there is no need to checkin at the national park ? These news usually are pure BS...

All boats will need to check in at Na Dan pier.

Resorts will all open 1st apart from the ones who think it's not worth it.

Big changes. They are saying all hotels/resorts can only open 50% of their rooms.

Speedboats can only operate at 30%.

so you mean that I cannot take a boat anymore to reach directly my private pool room at the southern most point of Samed ?

I have never passed by and paid any entrance fee.

So this week end ? are hotels open for somebody who knows that official announcements usually are just BS ?
