The ruling Palang Pracharat party won another House seat in the by-election in Constituency 4 of Thailand’s northern province of Lampang on Sunday, increasing its majority in the House of Representatives.

The party’s chief strategist, General Prawit Wongsuwan, thanked the people of Lampang for electing Mr. Wattana Sitthiwang, whose 61,806 votes saw off his main rival, Lt Somboon Klapathon of Seri Ruam Thai party, who received 37,869.

The unofficial poll results for the other candidates are:

New Economics Party Pathitta Chaimoonchuen                 2,177 votes

Palang Thongthin Thai Party Ampon Kamsriwan                245 votes

Thai Rak Tham Party Ong-art Sin-ananseth                          241 votes

They can make up whatever result they like.

I just pity the general population being caught up without any way out of it, unless they start rioting, which is not really part of the Thai culture.

If the two main parties "vote counts" are official, why are the other parties "unofficial"???

too all you negative nancy''s on here. seems thai people have spoken with the power of the vote.

don't get your panties in a bunch because you don't like the result.

Now let's just hope that no free money was given in order to secure votes. But you would figure the winners son died and that the father is the more looked up to than the other candidate, but the sad narrative is the father jumped ship as probably had an offer he could not refuse. I don't hink his son would be so happy knowing his dad is on the black side now.

Maybe the electorate failed to turn up in numbers as they knew what the amended result would be beforehand

Judging by the size of the victory, plenty did turn up.

Any complaints by any other party? Nope. Just a few TVF know-it-alls. Don't worry, bars open soon and you can pontificate to the girlies again.
