oPrincess
I normally buy books from the usa and have them shipped to me via surface m-bag. This service is provided by the usps but it will discontinue surface m-bag next month leaving only air m-bag which cost me a lot of money. How do you get your books shipped to Thailand cheaply? Can you advice?
sbk
No! thats terrible news. I have always shipped books this way as well. I am headed to the US soon and will scope out some options. Very bad news indeed
Jingthing
Please cite your source for this news. The service is still offered on the usps website. For example: Economy M-bags (Books and Publisher's Periodicals) (1 piece weighing 11.00 pounds) $11.55 Which is of course much less than an airmail M-bag. Can't find info about this being discontinued.

Sometimes people post info they have heard casually and isn't true. Unfortunately, this is indeed true. Bad news indeed. I know of no alternative short of making fewer, larger, airmail M-bag shipments.
