Shocking CCTV footage from two angles showed the moment a patient was about to be loaded into an ambulance outside the heart unit of Chao Phraya Yommarat Hospital in Suphanburi, central Thailand yesterday.

An explosion occurs sending hospital staff scurrying as a patient lies on a gurney.

Another angle shows a man jump out of the front of the vehicle as flames take hold.

There were no reports of injury or death.

Firemen had the blaze under control within 15 minutes.

INN reported that initial investigations revealed that the driver of the ambulance had just added oxygen to a tank that exploded.

It is thought it was overfilled.

Investigations continue.

The 'sick' guy on the gurney legs it at high speed.

You made me watch it a second time. I would not have called that high speed, but then, I guess that's relative. He was pretty slow compared to the fella who was wheeling him around.

Bet if they check the tyre pressure, it will be about 80 psi. ????
