Hopefully, things will be clarified further tomorrow. Statement from the Bars and Pubs thread. “The country's aviation regulator has banned international flights since April. That number will increase when more alternative state quarantine (ASQ) rooms are made available. The special arrangement will allow entry to groups of no more than 10 people for a short period. Visitors will be tested for Covid-19 prior to travel and on arrival in Thailand, where they will be monitored constantly by health and security officials. They must submit their Thailand itinerary in advance and will only be allowed to travel by private car. I guess that will allow all the overseas auto trade figures to attend the auto show in July !

Popular Post Expat Tom
Complete silliness. Why would anyone in their right mind welcome ANY Chinese back. The virus came from China along with the Asian flu, Hong Kong flu, SAARS, Bird Flu, Swine flu...should I go on? Over 100 countries in the world have condemned the CCP (China) for lying about the Wuhan Coronavirus and the leaders of Thailand accept the lies from the CCP about their control of said virus? Of course, Thailand knows more than over 100 combined countries. There have been over 3 million cases in China. The only reason that Thailand is allowing the Chinese back is serious support within the corrupt government of Thailand for the country to become a vassal state of China. Lots of money must be changing hands somewhere. This is the result of what the country gets when it is led by a general who led a coup against the elected government, said that he had no interest in becoming the country's leader, promised a return civilian control within 6 months, moved to change the constitution to pack the government with unelected military officers, prevented open campaigning against him, banned opposition political parties and is STILL IN POWER YEARS AFTER LEADING THE COUP???? Democracy? That is a Western concept and not an Asian one. Again, There must be big money changing hands somewhere. There is supposed to be a Cabinet meeting today and hopefully that will provide more (much needed) clarification. This is part of the confusion. They keep making announcements to the effect that the CAAT has banned certain passengers, or the AOT requires people to fill out health declarations, which makes it seem that there are a bunch of little fiefdoms making their own decisions - when what is actually meant (apparently...) is that the government has made the decision, and the individual agency or office is merely in charge of implementing it. This lack of clarity is also seen when they keep saying "foreigners residing in Thailand" when they actually mean "foreigners with permanent residency"; "ban on international flights" when they actually mean "ban on incoming International passengers"; and "lockdown" when they actually mean "closing of certain businesses". The result is a lot of confusion on the part of people trying to understand what is actually going on.

unheard
Still no regularly scheduled flights then (according to the official statement on facebook). What it states is that the the airlines will now be allowed to organize and process the qualified passengers themselves under a special permission obtained from the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (if granted). spidermike007
I am in group 3. My Thai wife and I were planning a trip back to Zombieland (the US) in mid September, returning here early November. Business and family stuff. If we were able to get letters showing we were negative for Covid, prior to departure, would we be subject to quarantine? Since my wife will be traveling with me, not sure how that effects the foreign husband returning to the Thai wife qualification. How do you qualify? I heard you have to request this at the Thai consulate in the US? Is it a lotto system, of some sort? 200 a day seems like a very low number. That is half a plane load of people.
