Popular Post innosiem
What is everyone's "Plan B" if the amnesty is not extended ? For myself, my visa expires in November right now here on amnesty til July 31st i know what the other "possibilities" are but at time of writing, nothing has been announced by immigration i am British, but i have no intention of wasting money to go back to blighty and would much prefer to visit whatever destinations are possible my main candidate is Tanzania, simply because i like the president, (nobody needs to remind me to avoid eating goats and paw paw LOL) other option, maybe Georgia, as you get 1 year entry no visa, and its cheap to live there If the powers that be remain silent (as some on TV have suggested they might) and you have to leave Thailand with no sure fire way to get back in straight awaywhich countries are possible and seem appealing to visit ? 2
Popular Post Keyser Soze666
I see your point, have to leave (visa expired) and can't get back in, or it's a heap of trouble to do so...Call me naive but I can't believe the gov would be that cynical, as that would blatantly be seen as a 'cull' of farangs and using a global pandemic to their cynical advantage, just can't see it it, would cause absolute uproar? 4 2
Popular Post innosiem
my visa has not expired (although not the same for everyone) thing is flights and borders are opening back up this month for many countries and there has been plenty of flights OUT of Thailand so they might say they gave everyone that needed to leave plenty of time to leave (those on yearly extension do not need to leave, but everyone else would have had too anyway) there would be no "cull" as you would be able to re-enter providing you jump through the hoops and book 2 weeks in a quarantine hotel etc. just as others are starting to do for myself i don't like hoops, and would prefer to simply wait it out elsewhere if needs be what does concern me, is i think Thailand will be late to the re-opening party as other countries just flip the switch, it will be pointlessly dragged out here.
Popular Post Caldera
Plan "A": Resume my travels to neighboring countries (of Thailand). Vietnam and Cambodia are at the top of my list, but I'd consider others. Requires open borders without quarantine and reasonable entry requirements. Not looking good as of now. Plan "B": Remain in Thailand until Plan "A" becomes feasible. Might or might not work, depending on when and how the amnesty will end. Plan "C": Fly back to home country, travel around in Europe until situation in Southeast Asia changes. Looks increasingly likely. I'm mostly interested in Greece and Spain. No major restrictions as of now; flights are available. I've booked a ticket back home just in case, but could postpone that trip if things change here. And I highly doubt other countries ask for 100k insurance for starters.. 8

Keyser Soze666
Erh, yes I know, which is my whole point. My questions is/was will they have the minerals to actually do it while local borders are closed and with all the present requirements in place at the airports?

JackThompson
My search the other day showed these in the ~$500 usd plane-ticket range, and fairly easy to enter in July - but please correct me if this is not the case:Greece, Turkey, Ukraine, Cyprus I am hoping for more options by August 5th, assuming I apply for "7 days to leave the country" extension a couple days before the auto-extension ends (likely a "there at 4AM and takes all day" thing). That assumes no other options to stay - will see. If the destination-country wants me to stay in a hotel a few days for test-results, that's fine. I very well might have had it in February, when exposed to all the Chinese-New-Year tourists. But I feel for those who are in not so good health, for whom travel will be dangerous. Speculation on what immigration and/or the cabinet will or will-not do, is pointless. All we can do, is try to be ready for any / all possibilities.
